Welcome, Yan!

The Kramer Lab is happy to welcome new postdoc, Yan Gong, who comes to us from Stanford University where he studied cell polarity and stomata development in Arabidopsis thaliana in the Bergmann Lab.  Yan is interested in investigating the cellular and molecular dynamics of petal spur formation in Aquilegia and is actively developing long-term live imaging approaches and downstream image analysis pipelines to enhance our understanding of Aquilegia petal spur structure and development.  Welcome, Yan!

Andrea Appleton wins ASPT 2021 Undergraduate Research Prize

Congratulations to Kramer Lab grad student, Andrea Appleton, who was awarded the 2021 Undergraduate Research Prize by the American Society of Plant Taxonomists.  The prize is awarded to students exhibiting outstanding, independent research in plant systematics, completed within the last two years.  Andrea earned this prestigious award for her study of the development and evolution of staminodes in Paronychia (Caryophyllaceae). Way to go, Andrea!!

Molly Edwards received the Katherine Esau Award at the Botany 2021 conference!
