Kramer Lab participated in the Shut Down STEM and Shut Down Academia initiative
On June 10th the Kramer Lab was proud to participate in the Shut Down STEM and Shut Down Academia initiative which seeks to shed light on systemic racism in science and technology fields. As part of the day-long work stoppage, we met virtually to discuss the issue of racial descrimination and to discuss actionable ways to increase diversity and inclusivity as a lab and as members of the greater Harvard community. Among the topics discussed were the need for diversification of mentors for faculty, students and staff, ways to make our lab and department a welcoming and supportive place for people of color and the need for greater STEM recruitment in diverse communities. Our lab is committed to equality for all and we will continue to seek positive change in the months and years ahead.
