#  Andrea Appleton won the Esau Prize for best student presentation at the recent Botany 2026 conference

Congratulations to Andrea Appleton who won the [Esau Prize](https://botany.org/home/awards/recognition-and-presentation-awards-for-students/esauaward.html) for best student presentation at the recent Botany 2026 conference held in Tucson, AZ from August 1-8. The title of her presentation was "Evolution, development, and identity of the staminode complexes in Loasaceae."
